You may wonder what the importance of deep linking is. It all comes down to Google and its ways of figuring out which links are naturally gained links and which aren’t. Because Google penalizes paid links, webmasters are continuously searching for ways to make their paid links appear natural. The concept behind Deep Link Directory is that since naturally gained links would normally point to a wide range of internal pages rather than just the homepage itself, submitting an internal page to the deep link directory would be a way to trick Google into thinking the links have not been paid for. It’s a good concept….but the site itself is plain. Had I not been specifically going to it to make comments about it here, I would not have stayed more than a couple seconds and would’ve skipped right past it. There’s nothing to draw the reader’s eyes in and keep the attention.
I’ve got to agree with that, it was my first thought when I linked through. I also note they’ve only got 173 sites actually listed… Good concept, and one worth keeping an eye on I think
